Seven people were arrested this morning as part of an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in Newham.
Officers from the Gangs and Firearms Unit at Newham Borough Police executed warrants at 10 addresses across east London and recovered a “significant amount” of suspected Class A and B drugs.
Of the five men and two women arrested as part of Operation Ambassador, several were also wanted for questioning by police for other non related matters.
Detective Superintendent Alan Moore said: “Newham’s Gangs & Firearms Unit understands the misery that can be caused to local communities by the supply and use of drugs. We will continue to work closely with our Borough partners to put a stop to those who peddle illegal substances and to assist anyone wishing to free themselves of addiction.
“This not withstanding the message is clear that Newham Borough Police have the appetite, capability and partnership network to tackle those engaged in organised criminal activity who seek to exploit and blight our communities.”
