Stars of London 2012 are returning to the Olympic Stadium this weekend for the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games.

Usain Bolt, Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis-Hill are among the athletes braving the miserable weather to compete this evening.

Tomorrow will see Ennis-Hill compete against fellow British heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson for the first time this season, while Greg Rutherford will face a world class long jump field.

Sunday will see Paralympic stars take centre stage for the final of the IPC Grand Prix Series as part of National Paralympic Day.

Home favourites David Weir, Jonnie Peacock, Shelly Woods and Richard Whitehead will be among the top athletes going for gold.

Speaking earlier this month, Weir said: “It is going to be a great atmosphere and tough competition.

“After winning four gold medals in the Stadium in 2012 being back there racing will be like a homecoming.”

Sunday will also see Paralympic champions Ellie Simmonds and Ollie Hynd lead a line-up of international swimmers in the London Aquatics Centre for the elite para-swimming competition.
