Two rush hour trains that run through Newham were cancelled yesterday (Dec 17) due to an “inebriated” and “disruptive passenger”.

The 5.04pm Shenfield to Liverpool Street and the 5.56pm Liverpool Street to Shenfield services were pulled due to the individual, who was taken away in an ambulance at Shenfield.

A spokesman for rail operator Greater Anglia said: “The disruptive passenger was inebriated and we had to call an ambulance for them.

“As the passenger had been unwell, we also had to take the train out of service in order to clean it, hence the 1704 and 1756 services were cancelled.”

She added that passengers waiting for the 5.56pm train would have had another arriving three minutes later.
