The main swimming pool at the Atherton Leisure Centre in Romford Road, Stratford, has closed temporarily while repairs are carried out to the ceiling.

The work cannot be done while the pool is in use. Entry to the rest of the building and the use of other facilities will continue as normal.

The work was planned to start today and could take up to 13 weeks but the pool will re-open as soon as possible. The council apologises for the inconvenience the closure will cause.

Activities and clubs that currently take place in the main pool will switch to the smaller training pool or to leisure facilities at Balaam Leisure Centre, Balaam Street, Plaistow; East Ham Leisure Centre, Barking Road, or Newham Leisure Centre, Prince Regent Lane, Plaistow.
