A ROAD in Forest Gate had to be closed yesterday following a sewer collapse
Due to the collapse in the middle of Katherine Road, at the junction with Monega Road, Thames Water Authority has required an immediate road closure.
A Newham Council spokesman said: “Work has started immediately, but due to the problem being four metres underground it is anticipated that the closure may last about ten days.
“Katherine Road will be closed, except for access, between Romford Road (A118) and Plashet Grove (B165) during this time. Monega Road on each side of the closure will revert to a two way working and buses will be on diversion.”
