Richard House youngsters create video to raise hospice awareness

Children at a Beckton hospice have created a YouTube video to raise awareness of the support they receive.
Richard House Children’s Hospice has embraced Children’s Hospice Week, a national campaign to raise awareness and funds for charities that care for young people with life-limiting conditions, by encouraging staff, volunteers and youngsters to share their favourite memories on film and on a memory tree in the hospice.
For Jordan Samuel, Richard House has allowed him to embrace his passion for film-making.
The 18-year-old from Beckton said: “One of my favourite moments was when I went to Disneyland through Richard House.
“My other favourite moment is whenever I come to film club at Richard house.
“It has got me into actually making films doing stuff on my YouTube channel.”
The quest for magic memories even saw West Ham’s vice-captain, Mark Noble, speak about his favourite memory of the hospice.
The midfielder, who is also a Richard House patron, said: “One memory that stands out for me is our team’s annual Christmas visit to the hospice.
“Christmas is a magical time for those of us who are lucky enough to have healthy children.
“But for those families whose children have life-limiting conditions like those we meet at Richard House, it can be difficult to enjoy it as they should.”
