Around 20 people were evacuated from Zaki Snooker Hall in Stratford after a fire in the flats above.
Firefighters tackled the blaze in Leytonstone Road from about 10pm on Saturday until about 2am on Sunday.
The blaze damaged the upstairs property.
Nobody was hurt as a result of the blaze, which is still under investigation.
