A 17-home development is the third to be launched as part of Newham Council’s Red Door Ventures scheme.
Gregory House, in Libra Road, Plaistow, is aimed at young professionals, couples and friends looking for rental accommodation in an area close to public transport links.
Designed by architects Bell Phillips and built by HG Construction, the site consists of a three-sided cul-de-sac with a private balcony or garden for each home.
The Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, helped to launch the development on Tuesday and said: “Red Door Ventures is making a significant local contribution to alleviating the capital’s housing crisis and I am delighted to officially launch the latest properties they have developed.
“The initiative is going from strength to strength, directly addressing the lack of high quality homes in the borough while making a commercial return for the council which can be invested in enhancing other services for our residents.”
The Libra Road development is the third to be launched by Red Door Ventures, following The Tanneries in Stratford and Nelson Street in East Ham.
Planning approval has also been granted for 77 homes in Grange Road, Plaistow and a further 185 across the Town Hall Annexe and Brian Didsbury Centre sites in East Ham.
Lesley-Anne Alexander, the chairwoman of Red Door Venture, added: “2017 has already been a significant year for Red Door Ventures with the planning approval of some key developments for the company and now the launch of our third development, Gregory House.
“Our vision is to provide high quality homes for private rent with additional services and facilities to make residents’ lives as easy as possible.”
Prices start from £1,250 per month for a one-bedroom flat and £1,450 per month for a two-bedroom flat.
