FORMER Newham hospital radio chief Bob Rush has paid tribute to a colleague who was found bludgeoned to death at his flat.

Mr Rush was station manager of Woodside Radio, which broadcast to patients at both Newham General and St Andrew’s hospitals when Peter Bick was chairman of the Trustees.

He said that news of Mr Bick’s death in Bexhill, East Sussex, came as a great shock to all who knew him. His funeral took place last week, writes PAT COUGHTREY.

Mr Rush said: “For such a kind, polite and thoroughly nice man, to be bludgeoned to death in his own home is hard to come to terms with.”

The chairman of Monega Association added: “I saw Peter three months ago and he was his usual genial, softly-spoken self, enquiring after the health of others, sensitive and decent to the core.”

Mr Bick, 57, a supermarket worker, was found dead on January 11.

His family have described him as a great animal lover who was friendly and well liked.

A 27-year-old man, Christopher Hunnisett, from Hastings, stands remanded in custody to Lewes Crown Court charged with Mr Bick’s murder.
