Ravenscroft Primary School pupils swapped roles with their parents this week as they treated their elders to a big breakfast.
The event, on Wednesday, was part of the schools Big Breakfast and Musical Showcase, with a picnic and poetry session for year five pupils held in the afternoon.
parents were treated to a choice of a hot cooked breakfast or cereal and crossaints as they listened to performances from all year groups.
The school also held a ‘booknic in the park’ for year five pupils at the Canning Town Recreational Ground to kick start the Summer Reading Challenge run by Newham library.
Headteacher Alison Sharp said: “Ravenscroft Primary School held its annual “Big Breakfast” where all members of the school community get together to share breakfast and enjoy music and singing performed by the school’s budding musicians.
“Over 500 pupils and their families enjoyed a choice of hot and cold breakfasts in the sunshine. The children also enjoyed outdoor dining at lunchtime when they had a picnic lunch on Canning Town Recreation Ground and took part in a range of reading activities - the school’s first ever ‘Booknic’,” Alison said.
