London City Airport is the most punctual airport in the UK, it emerged last week, beating all other major airports by three per cent.
The statistics, published by the Civil Aviation Authority on Thursday, reveal that 85 per cent of scheduled arrival and departure flights are on time, an improvement for LCA.
In the second quarter of 2011, LCA had an average delay time of six minutes, half the time of London Heathrow and Manchester Airport.
Chief Executive Officer at London City Airport Richard Gooding said: “We are delighted with the performance shown in the CAA statistics. Our ground staff strive to ensure that passengers and airlines enjoy fast throughput at all times.
“With the best punctuality levels and close proximity to the financial districts and City, London City Airport is the number one choice for business travellers.”
