STAFF at The Greyhound in West Ham proudly presented a cheque for 2,060 to Cancer Research UK.
The Darriba family, (right) who run the pub in West Ham Lane, held a charity weekend to raise money in memory of husband and father Tino, who died of cancer earlier this year. Daughter, Sam, 29, said: “Everyone was really generous. It was a really good effort.”
A number of fun activities were held during the fund raising event, including a cockney night with pie and mash and fancy dress, a football and pool competition, a quiz, and live music and dance performed by staff and customers.
Eight of the family, including Sam, raised a further 2,000 through a three-day walk on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. To contribute go to: www.justgiving.com/joecastro.
