Parents, pupils and staff from Rosetta Primary School will take part in a litter pick on Monday.

They will clear up rubbish from Canning Town Recreation Ground as part of their Everybody Writes Day, which this term has a litter theme.

Following the litter pick, children will take part in a range of litter-themed writing activities inside and outside the classroom, including creating newspaper reports, writing poems and designing anti-littering leaflets.

Amy Bryant, head of English, said: “Everybody Writes Days provide the children with real life experiences for them to base their writing upon and thus they have real purposes to write for.”

This term’s theme was chosen to allow pupils to work with the wider community and encourage them to take pride in the appearance of their environment.
