It’s one of sport’s most coveted cups that could one day go on display in the London Stadium trophy cabinet.

But while West Ham’s current league position suggests that could be a long way off, budding young footballers were able to get up close and personal with the Premier League trophy when it was brought to St Angela’s Ursuline School.

The visit was organised through the St George’s Road, Forest Gate school’s partnership with the West Ham foundation.

Members of the school’s sports teams, including some who participate in weekly sessions with the foundation, were able to pose for photos with English football’s most prized trophy, which was decked out in reigning champions Leicester City’s club colours of blue and yellow.

The trophy is currently on a nationwide schools tour to inspire young fans.
