Police officers are out and about across the borough today for a community action day.
There will be a stall at Queens Market until 6pm where crime prevention and recruitment advice will be distributed, while officers will also be checking mobile phone sellers in Green Street to make sure they are complying with the police’s safer selling scheme.
Anyone with issues or concerns can visit the mobile police station, where staff will try and solve problems.
A mobile police bus will be stationed in John Barnes Walk, Forest Gate, this afternoon, while shops in Stratford will be visited to ensure they are aware of policing activities in the area.
Officers will be patrolling streets around the whole of Newham and handing out leaflets as part of the initiative, designed to boost confidence in the force.
