THREE people were taken to hospital after a police car was involved in an accident in Plaistow yesterday afternoon.
The accident happened shortly before 12.40pm in Plaistow Grove, Plaistow.
The driver of a Renault car involved in the accident with the police car was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters, who cut the top of the car off. He was taken to hospital with leg injuries.
A Scotland Yard police spokesman said two officers in the car were also taken to hospital where they were treated and later discharged.
The road was closed while the police, fire and ambulance officers worked at the scene. Later, Road Traffic Investigators examined the scene. Picture: STEVE POSTON.
