Police were called to a pawnbroker shop this afternoon following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attended the shop, which the Recorder understands to be The Money Shop, in High Street North, East Ham, at 4.28pm.
The owner told the police that a man had smashed the window and stole a number of items.
The suspect is described as a white male with blond hair, of a tall and thin build and wearing a black hood, black sunglasses and a black rucksack.
No one was injured and no arrests have yet been made.
