In the early hours of Saturday, October 6, a woman in her 30s was on a N8 bus between Stratford and Gants Hill.

She dozed off, and was sexually assaulted by a man who later got off the bus.

The offence was committed between 5-6am.

Detective Constable Harry Esealuka, of the East Area Command Unit, said: “This was an awful attack on a female who had every right to expect to travel safely on public transport. She has been devastated by the incident.

“I urge anyone who recognises the male in this image to contact us immediately. We would particularly like to hear from passengers who were on the same bus and confronted the attacker before he left the scene.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting ref 1682/06OC tweet @MetCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
