London Underground users are being asked to come forward with information after a man was racially abused on a Jubilee Line train.

British Transport Police say the 31-year-old male victim, from Newham, was travelling between Stratford and Canada Water stations at around 6.30pm on Saturday, February 8 when another man sat down next to him and subjected him to a tirade of racial abuse.

They have released images of a man they believe has important information about what took place and who they wish to speak to.

Detective Constable Paul Miller said: “This was a busy train and we believe there will be a number of people who witnessed what took place.

“If you were on board the service at the time, we urge you to come forward as you may have information crucial to our investigation.

“If you recognise the man pictured, or have any information that you think will assist officers, please contact us.”
