British Transport Police are appealing for information after a Docklands Light Railway inspector was assaulted with a mountain bike.
The incident took place at Abbey Road DLR station at around 6.50pm on Wednesday 6 November.
A man tried to board the train with his mountain bike but the inspector told him he could not travel with it during peak times.
The man swore at the inspector and swung the bike towards him, hitting the back of his leg.
He then barged into the 35-year-old inspector and threatened to punch him before leaving the station.
Officers have reviewed CCTV footage and released images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable Steve Ajayi said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a member of staff who was simply doing his job.
“We don’t tolerate behaviour and abuse such as this towards staff and will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice.”
