The MCM London Comic Con returned to the Custom House venue this week and, for the first time ever, ran over a full three days from Friday to Sunday with more than 115,000 comic enthusiasts welcomed through the doors.

The sold-out event featured everything from cosplay, games, comic books and movies.

This included a documentary on a failed Tim Burton Superman movie film, titled The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?

Show co-organiser, Bryan Cooney, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who attended for making this MCM London Comic Con our best ever.”

Fans were able to meet stars including geek goddess Felicia Day, from Supernatural, Iain de Caestecker and Nick Blood from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, John Noble, from The Lord Of The Rings and Sleepy Hollow and Doctor Who’s Sylvester McCoy.

Altogether, more than 200 comic book artists, writers and publishers attended the event to meet fans.

This included Emma Vieceli, a comics artist who has worked on Marvel Comics and Manga Shakespeare.

She said: “It was a brilliant event. I am absolutely exhausted but it was well worth it.

“Events like Comic Con gives us the chance to interact with other people who are just as enthusiastic about the comic book world as we are and that’s great.

“It was the first time comic con did a full three-day event and it was filled with people from the outset.

“To see the enthusiasm from everyone who attended was great.”

The popular event will be heading back down to the ExCel in October.

Mr Cooney added: “We hope that you’ll all be able to come back in October for a second — possibly even bigger — instalment in 2015. Tell your friends.”
