Why traipse around the Olympic Park by foot when you can glide along the water like a real VIP?

This summer the waterways around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are accessible to the public by boat, with tours running throughout the day.

Tickets for a 45 minute boat tour cost £8 for adults, £4 for children (under threes go free) and £20 for a family of four (including two adults and two children) and can be bought on the day.

A spokesman said: “Experience the stunning scenery from a whole new perspective, passing through beautifully landscaped parklands in the shadows of the iconic sporting venues of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Tours will start from Stratford Waterfront near the London Aquatics Centre before heading north on Waterworks River taking in a number of sights including the park’s gardens, venues and artwork.

Weather and river conditions permitting they will run daily until August 31.
