Friends, family and colleagues gathered for the funeral of Ben Woollacott from Swanley yesterday afternoon, who died when he fell from the Woolwich ferry.
The 19-year-old crew member, whose family has given service to the river for generations, fell from the ferry in the south terminal, on August 3, at about 6.10am whilst untying mooring ropes.
The Woolwich ferry service was suspended yesterday so that his colleagues could attend the funeral at All Hallows By The Tower Church in Byward Street, near Tower Bridge.
A post mortem examination revealed the cause of death as drowning.
