A person died last night after being struck by a Central Line train at Stratford.
The incident happened at around 4.15pm and the line was suspended between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone, with severe delays on the rest of the line.
A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said: “We sent a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew and a hazardous response team, a duty officer and a the London Air Ambulance.
“But sadly the patient was pronounced dead at the scene by the doctor from the Air Ambulance.”
The identity of the victim has not been released yet but it is the second fatality on the Central Line in less than a week as a woman was struck by a train on Friday morning at Leyton.
