The world’s largest sustainability centre will celebrate its first year in the borough by hosting an outdoor opera festival.

The Siemen’s Crystal in the Royal Docks will hold the Siemens Festival Nights featuring popular operatic masterpieces from Giuseppe Verdi and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Falstaff, La Traviata, Don Carlo and The Magic Flute - all shown on a big screen.

The festival kicks off with the first showing of the world-renowned Salzburg Festival at 7pm on Friday August 30.

Tickets are £5 available from www.thecrystal.org/events. Visitors can decide whether to swap their ticket for a food and drink voucher or donate it to The Newham People’s Trust, a charity which provides educational grants.
