Firefighters tackle out of control bonfire in wooded area

A fire broke out at a homeless camp beside the busy highway between Barking and East Ham this morning, damaging shelters amid billowing plumes of black smoke.
Firefighters were called to an out of control bonfire in Burges Road shortly after 11am.
One crew from Barking station attended the scene and has now managed to get it under control.
An eyewitness reports that the fire was in a wooded area at the corner of Burges Road and Barking Road, and that there appeared to be a camp set up nearby.
