These big-hearted bikers got really revved up for the Recorder and Community Links’ Christmas Toy Appeal for disadvantaged children at the weekend.

Riders from the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF), NCT, Virago Star Owners Club (VSOC), and Essex Chapter met up on Saturday morning at the King’s Oak pub in Loughton clutching toys for the youngsters to open on Christmas morning.

The bikers rode all over east London before ending up at Community Links’ headquarters in Barking Road, Canning Town where they delivered their bounty of toys.

We’ve got around 5,000 toys now and we’ve only got three weeks to bring that total up to 13,000 - so visit www.newhamrecorder.co.uk to find out where to leave your gifts of love and help us make this Toy Appeal a success in its 36th year.

The Recorder and Community Links Christmas Toy Appeal makes sure that every child in the borough gets presents at Christmas in these tough economic times.
