One of London’s most ambitious music festivals is coming to Silvertown to welcome visitors the weekend before the Olympic Games.

The London Pleasure Gardens, currently being built in the Docklands area, is hosting one of the stages of the BT River of Music festival as part of London Festival 2012.

With six stages lined up along the Thames, the two day free festival is taking place on July 21 and 22 and promises to feature artists representing all Olympic and Paralympic nations.

Silvertown’s newest entertainment destination will be home to the Africa Stage hosting Staff Benda Bilili, Justin Adams, Juldeh Camara, the Noisettes, Munto Valdo, King Sunny Ade and some of Africa’s biggest stars in one-off projects.
