Over 3,000 Newham residents are taking part in the Olympic Park and Village ‘big build’ as it nears completion.
Figures released by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) reveal that 3,113 people from Newham are working on the London 2012 site, making up almost eight per cent of total employees.
Among the five host boroughs, Newham has by some distance the greatest share of construction labour with 42 per cent of the total.
The host boroughs provide around a quarter of the Olympic workforce, the ODA said, above its target of 15 per cent.
