Budding athletes got a chance to stretch their legs at the brand-new London Marathon Community Track.
Lucky students from Stratford’s Bobby Moore Academy were coached by two Team GB Olympians, Asha Philip and Rabah Yousif, at the site which houses the academy’s new sporting facility.
Stuart Burns, principal at Bobby Moore Academy, said: “This was an incredible moment for our students.
“They cannot wait to start using this inspirational facility as part of everyday life at Bobby Moore Academy.”
The state of the art academy, set in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, opened in September.
It currently caters for 125 year 7 students, with eventual plans to educate 1,560 students over two academy sites.
The academy benefits from access to a wide range of sporting facilities within the Queen Elizabeth Park, including the London Marathon Community Track and the London Aquatics Centre.
