How does a young athlete growing up in Newham go on to become an Olympic champion?
That was the story Christine Ohuruogu shared with students at Kingsford Community School when she visited on Monday.
The assembly, given to a select group of students from across the different year groups, saw the former Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion tell of her successes and the challenges faced in achieving them.
Headteacher at the school in Kingsford Way, Beckton, Joan Deslandes, said: “Her story is immensely inspiring, especially to those growing up in her home borough.
“I am sure that all pupils, not to mention Kingsford’s budding Olympians, will have found her talk incredibly motivating.”
