Leyton Orient have been handed a home draw against League Two side Northampton Town in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern section quarter-final.

The O’s progressed to this stage with a 2-0 win over another League Two side in the shape of Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday, thanks to two goals from striker Jay Simpson.

Northampton, managed by Chris Wilder, did so with a 2-1 victory at Portsmouth.

The last time the two sides met was also in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy when the O’s won 3-0 at Sixfields on December 5, 2012 after a David Mooney double and one from Michael Symes.

The match will be played the week beginning November 10.
