NO decision will be made on the future of the Olympic Stadium this week, despite widespread media reports that Friday would be D-day, the Recorder understands.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) today released a statement saying that it required more time to make a decision on the “preferred bidder” of the stadium at Stratford’s Olympic Park because of the “detailed nature” of rival bids from West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur football clubs.
Also in the mix is the original legacy proposal to convert the stadiuym into a 25,000-seat mixed use venue.
OPLC also confirmed that bids from West Ham and Newham Council and Tottenham Hotspur and AEG, met Friday’s deadline.
But a spokeswoman told the Recorder that the choice would not be made until the end of March.
