A-thousand cyclists are planning a night ride tomorrow from the Olympic Park through central London taking in iconic sites like Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.

The nineth annual Nightrider starts at Lee Valley Velopark with a lap of the road circuit before heading onto the moonlit streets.

Two routes starting out from Stratford are being sign-posted with break stops every 20 miles with medical support and mechanical backup, so riders can cycle at their own pace.

Highlights include Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and St Paul’s Cathedral—then watching the sunrise over London at dawn.

The Nightrider event supports charities of the cyclists’ choice, to raise £1 million for good causes including British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Combat Stress, Marie Curie, Shelter and Tommy’s.

British Heart Foundation has its largest-yet team this year with 80 ‘champions’ peddling “through the heart of London” to raise £20,000 to help fund its research.

Riders can choose the 100km “grand circular tour” or the 50km run with no hills!
