Newham wheelchair service moves to East Ham

Users of a Newham wheelchair seating service are to benefit from an upgrade in facilities as of today.
The Newham Wheelchair and Special Seating Service is now based at East Ham Care Centre in Shrewsbury Road after moving there from Romford Road in Stratford.
The modern centre will provide patients with larger clinical space, which should reduce waiting times for appointments, plus a quieter and more accessible location.
Unlike the previous site, East Ham Care Centre is not on a main road junction so it will be easier for people to get dropped off for their appointment.
Health provider East London Foundation Trust has also confirmed a canteen will be available at the new site.
The phone number remains the same and people can refer to the service as they do now.
Bus routes 238, 325 and 376 all stop at the junction of Plashet Grove and Shrewsbury Road. East Ham is the nearest tube station.
Parking, including four bays reserved for disabled drivers, is available in addition to pay and display areas in neighbouring streets.
