Newham ten-pin bowlers raise funds for hospice care

Bowlers strike out for charity

The Sunday Trios ten-pin bowling league, rolled off their 2012-2013 season with their annual individual handicap tournament for charity at the City Pavilion, Romford.

The women’s competition was won by guest bowler Jeanette Mitchell, and the men’s competition was won by Dean Kingston.

With a generous donation from the City Pavilion and league bowlers, the tournament , held every year in memory of Brian Martin, raised over £300 for Hospice Care in Exeter.

The majority of the league bowlers come from the Newham area. They formerly bowled in two Beckton centres until their closures.,
