Newham’s Ade Adepitan says Paralympics will produce ‘lots of heroes’

Newham’s star Paralympian Ade Adepitan will play a key presenting role in Channel Four’s coverage of the Paralympic Games

Ade, who moved to Newham from Lagos at the age of three and went to school in Plaistow, said he thinks hosting the Paralympics will be good for the borough.

Ade said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to see and share the dreams of some of the world’s greatest Paralympic athletes. We want to get people talking and begin the journey of normalisation for people of all disabilities.”

“We as a nation love sport, especially when we win, which is what our Paralympians are good at. Everybody needs heroes and the Games will produce lots of them.”

The full interview can be read in issue 256 of the Newham Mag from Friday 24 August or online at
