Winsor Primary School pupil from Beckton appears on The Gadget Show

A seven-year-old from Beckton is making his festive debut on the small screen tonight (Friday).

Drurell Green, who attends Winsor Primary School, is appearing on a Christmas episode of technology programme, The Gadget Show.
Drurell plays a mini version of presenter Ortis Deley, opening presents and reviewing them for the cameras.
“We recently got into doing child modelling with Drurell, and The Gadget Show contacted us after looking at his profile,” said Drurell’s mother, Stephanie Awatefe.
“They suggested he would be good as a mini Ortis.”

During October half-term, Stephanie and Drurell drove up to Coventry for a day of filming.
Ortis gave Drurell presents which he’d like to have received as a child, and the pair then tested the toys throughout the show.

“It was his first time on camera,” Stephanie said.
“He was really excited. Ortis gave him gifts that’d he loved to have had as a child.”
“I had a good feeling in my tummy,” Drurell added.
“I was nervous and very excited to meet Ortis.”
Drurell was given two presents – a robot, and a virtual reality Iron Man mask which transforms the world around you, adding obstacles to the surrounding landscape which you fire at using imaginary disks.
“I like gadgets,” Drurell said.
“I opened the presents and they recorded me. My favourite part was that I got to take presents home at the end.”
The festive episode will also see fellow presenters Georgie Barrat, Jon Bentley and Craig Charles with their own mini co-hosts, while Craig will attempt to use technology to turn him into a top Christmas chef.
The show was designed to give present ideas for parents and children – and it clearly worked. Drurell has asked Santa for the gadgets they used for Christmas.
The episode will air on Channel 5 at 7pm tonight.
