A policewoman in Newham who lied about not being able to go to work after she was denied time off has been sacked.

PC Jessica Bartlett claimed her car wasn’t working and even produced a fake service invoice to try and dupe her supervisor.

On Friday, panel at a public special case hearing was told Jessica had been denied annual leave before she lied about being unable to drive to work.

The hearing decided her conduct amounted to a breach of the Met’s standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity.

The panel found the allegations proven as gross misconduct and Jessica was dismissed without notice.
