A police cadet from Newham has scooped an award for always doing her best.

Winner Andreea Vladeanu, who attends Newham Voluntary Police Cadets, made friends as soon as she joined and was quick to pick up on new skills.

The 16-year-old came first in a theory test after only five weeks.

She almost immediately signed up for volunteering and asked to take on more charitable tasks in the holidays too.

A total of 140 police cadets received Jack Petchey Foundation achievement awards presented at Kensington Great Hall on Sunday.

Chief Supt, Steve Banks, said: “Many thanks on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service to the Jack Petchey Foundation for its support and showcasing the great work of the voluntary police cadets.”
