Newham Muslims: Fasting for Ramadan? Share your experience with the Recorder

PUBLISHED: 12:04 20 June 2014

Next week sees the start of the Muslim festival of Ramadan, the holiest time of year for the thousands of Muslims in Newham.

The festival marks the month during which Muslims believe the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the archangel Gibreel.

Muslims across Newham and the world will fast from dawn till sunset every day.

The Recorder’s Faith and Community page would like to hear from residents celebrating Ramadan who want to share their experiences with the wider community.

Perhaps you are a young person fasting for the first time, or maybe you would like to share pictures of your family feasts, or compare methods of getting through the fast.

Residents can also write a Ramadan diary entry to tell people how they observed the fast or what Ramadan means to them.

Interested? Email adam.barnett@archant.co.uk, or call 0208 477 3886.
