Five companies have been given a total of £20,000 in grants thanks to The International Quarter Community Fund.

The fund, now in its second year, is designed to recognise the outstanding work of groups who provide invaluable services and support to the local community in and around the borough.

The Yard Theatre, Eastside Community Heritage, Independent Newham Users Forum, S7 Academy of Excellence and Sev Necati Training were the winners this year, who all received a share of the money to fund creative projects.

Ben O’Rourke, managing director at International Quarter London, said: “We are committed to leaving a positive social legacy at International Quarter London and our community fund is just one way we can have a direct impact on the excellent work our local organisations and partners are doing.

“The project team at International Quarter London is looking forward to working with these organisations in the coming months to help support their work in the local community.”
