Travelling by camel and seeing a Bengal tiger in the wild are just some of the amazing memories 15 Newham Air Cadets brought back with them from their travels in the Thar desert in Rajasthan, India.
The two week trip of a lifetime was thanks to the RAF Charitable Trust.
But it was certainly no holiday and during their two week stay they got to work with local people refurbishing a primary school.
Cadet Cpl Marcus Cleyders, 16, said: “It made me realise how lucky I am to have what I have and not take things for granted.
“These two weeks helped boost my confidence and ability to work with others.”
Expedition co-ordinator, Flt Lt, Chris Booty added that the trip was no easy task for the cadets.
He said: “Seeing the school kids smile with what the cadets gave them shows that the mission was a success, and that the team made a difference.
