Business students from Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc) will join German pupils in pitching marketing campaigns to a range of manufacturers in Germany.

The students are working together as part of The European Business Project, an international partnership between NewVIc and the Berufliche Schule Korbach und Bad Arolsen (BSK).

It provides a unique way for students to develop their skills whilst providing insight and experience into the world of international business.

They have been teamed together to research the UK market, then devise and develop a marketing strategy to launch products in the UK on behalf of four German corporations.

Their students will present their strategies to the companies at BSK in Korbach, Germany, next month.

Tomilayo Akinbolagbe, 16, is in his first year of studying level 3 extended diploma in business at NewVIc.

He will be marketing the German salami from Henkelmann and said: “It’s been quite difficult working with students from Germany because of the language barrier, but it’s also been fun.

“I look forward to going to the businesses and showing them how to market their products and connect with their target market. I’ve learnt a lot about German people and the culture.”
