An African community centre in Plaistow has unveiled a new look thanks to a project by a paint company to “bring colour to people’s lives”.

Over 20 volunteers pitched in to give the Newham African Caribbean Resource Centre in Barking Road its first coat of paint in ten years.

The light blue paint was donated by Dulux as part of it’s ‘Let’s Colour’ project after the centre’s revamp was nominated by its managing director, David Idiabana.

Mr Idiabana said: “We are extremely grateful to Dulux Decorator Centres for the generous paint donation, it’s made a huge difference to the centre.

“The makeover has boosted the centre’s aesthetic appeal to the public and we hope the groups who come here will be able to make the most of it for years to come.”
