British Airways will launch a new route between London City Airport and Aberdeen with three return flights a day.

BA CityFlyer, the wholly-owned subsidiary of British Airways, will operate the service from September using aircraft from its fleet of new Embraer 170 and 190 jets.

The airline already operates seven return flights a day between Aberdeen and Heathrow.

Luke Hayhoe, BA CityFlyer commercial manager, said: “Our direct flights to Edinburgh and Glasgow from London City are extremely popular with Scottish customers who want to want fly straight to the heart of the City, for both business or leisure.

“This new route complements the existing Aberdeen to Heathrow service, giving our customers greater choice and additional frequency when travelling between these two great wealth generating cities.”
