Vapouround, who distribute to more than 20 countries, are now hoping to make a success of their brand-new shop that opened in Barking Road on Monday.

The shop will offer vapers the opportunity to sit relax, try new flavours, enjoy a coffee and learn the benefits of using e-cigarettes instead of smoking.

Director of Vapouround, Paul Johnson, said: “A lot of places don’t allow vaping indoors, so this will be a relaxed place where people will be able to come, have a coffee, and enjoy vaping inside.

“We don’t try to market to people who have no need to vape - we’re not trying to encourage people who have never smoked to start vaping - we’re hoping this will help some smokers.”

Paul is insisting the shop isn’t just a fad and wants it to be part of the major plan to open 50 shops and lounges nationwide.

“We’re not just jumping on the band wagon,” he said.

“It’s a good stepping stone for us to open up a shop in London and the signs so far have been really good.

“There is nowhere around this area like this currently, so we’re optimistic and hoping it’s going to go pretty well.”

Vapouround is planning to open more shops across the capital, but believes Canning Town was the perfect destination to start off, as it’s filled with potential.

“It was recommended by a colleague who is in the industry and runs a place in Stratford.”

The main aim of the shop is to educate smokers into the benefits of vaping, as they believe it’s a safer alternative, which can also work out a lot cheaper.

The shop will be open from 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 5.30pm on weekends.
