Natalie Firminger’s enthusiasm and leadership in managing the new maternity facilities at newham General Hospital have earned her the accolade of Project Manager of the Year.

She won the award for her management of the new facilities which saw Phase 1 and 2 opened at the hospital earlier this year.

The judges chose Natalie because she brought “enthusiasm and leadership to the maternity development”. They also believe she encouraged innovation through every step of the process. As a result, patient surroundings had been enhanced and staff were also able to work more efficiently.

Natalie, who is Clinical Design and Quality Manager at Newham University Hospital NHS Trust, said: “I’m very proud to have won this award, both personally and on behalf of the Trust. It’s an honour to be recognised for this work. The maternity development has been a real achievement and makes such a difference to the experience for patients and staff alike.”

Justin Pereira, assistant director site development and Natalie’s manager, said: “I’m so proud. Natalie really deserved to win this award as she has shown so much dedication and commitment to this project.”
