Children at a Beckton hospice helped to record a song about their experiences.
They were joined by their families and volunteers at Richard House Children’s Hospice to sing and play piano and percussion instruments.
The song, called ‘Living for Today’, was written using feedback from families who use the hospice and two verses were created by children on the day.
Anita Vaz, music therapist at Richard House Children’s Hospice, said: “The day was not only enjoyable, but it gave each member of the family the opportunity to join in a shared activity together.
“There are so many things that families are unable to do together, as many children and young adults have complex health needs, and the day allowed them to simply enjoy being a family.”
In addition to recording the single, a CD cover was created and a video will be made in the coming weeks.
