A motorist escaped serious injury after his car hit a lamppost and overturned in Plaistow on last night.
Firefighters who attended the road accident shortly after 9.30pm in High Street described the man as shaken but not hurt.
He was treated at the scene, close to Plaistow tube station, by paramedics but was not taken to hospital. The lamppost was severely damaged.
